Printable Maze Generator

Generate a printable maze in one click: pick a difficulty, press New puzzle for a fresh unique layout, then print it as a PDF worksheet or download a PNG or SVG. Every maze is generated in your browser - nothing is uploaded, nothing is saved.

12×12 maze generated from seed 1546250436.

How the maze generator works

Each maze is carved by a depth-first algorithm from a seed number. The same seed with the same settings always produces the same maze - which is why the share link can recreate a puzzle exactly, and why you can come back to a favorite tomorrow. Press "New puzzle" for a random seed and a brand-new labyrinth.

The difficulty setting changes more than size. Easy mazes (8×8) include gentle loops so wrong turns recover quickly - ideal for young children and low-vision solvers. Medium (12×12) tightens up. Hard (18×18) removes all shortcuts: pure dead-end navigation for patient adults.

Ways people use these printable mazes

Teachers print class sets for morning work and early finishers; parents keep a folder for rainy days and restaurant tables; care homes print large easy mazes for activity sessions; puzzle fans print hard ones for a genuine challenge with a coffee.

The controls remember your last settings on your device, and every export is print-ready: the PDF comes from your browser's print dialog (choose "Save as PDF"), the SVG is a vector file that scales to A3 and beyond, and the PNG downloads at 2× resolution.

Frequently asked questions

Are these printable mazes free?

Yes - unlimited printing for home, classroom, or care settings, with no sign-up and no watermarks.

How do I get the same maze again?

Each maze is identified by its seed. Copy the share link or note the seed number shown under the puzzle; entering that seed reproduces the identical maze.

Can I include the solution?

Tick "Show solution" and the correct path is drawn through the maze. Print that version on its own to use as an answer key.

Do the mazes print well in black and white?

Yes. Mazes are solid black lines on a white background with no color, so they print crisply on any printer or photocopier.
