A calmer board by default
Instead of the tall five-layer tower, the page opens on a wide two-layer layout of 100 tiles. Every tile is easier to see, fewer tiles hide underneath others, and the matching rule is simple: two identical tiles are a pair. When you want the full classic turtle, the hub page has it one click away.
There is no clock and no score pressure of any kind. A board can take ten minutes or an afternoon; the only numbers on screen are how many tiles remain and how many moves you have taken.
Help is always one tap away
Tap any exposed tile and the game tells you its name - five of bamboo, East wind - then highlights your selection until you tap its partner. Not sure where a match is hiding? The hint button lights up an open pair, and it never costs you anything.
Made a pick you regret? Undo rewinds as many moves as you like, and each removed pair comes back exactly where it was. Your win streak is only recorded when you finish a board, so experimenting is always free.
Every board can be finished
Boards are dealt in reverse from a finished layout, so the deal itself contains a hidden solution - no board is impossible. If you run out of open matches, the shuffle button re-deals the faces of the remaining tiles, and if you ever feel boxed in, undo walks you back to a better fork in the road.
Boards are numbered, so a layout you enjoyed can be replayed by typing its number, and your record - wins, streak, best time - stays privately on your own device.
Frequently asked questions
Is this version easier than regular mahjong solitaire?
Yes, by design. The default board here has only two layers and 100 tiles instead of five layers and 144, and it leaves out the flower and season tiles, so every match is simply two identical tiles. The classic turtle board is still available on the hub page.
Can I make the tiles bigger?
The board already scales with your screen, and browser zoom works normally on top of it - try holding Ctrl (or Cmd on a Mac) and pressing + to enlarge everything, including the tiles.
What if I get stuck?
Use hint to light up an open pair, or shuffle to re-deal the remaining tiles when nothing matches. Unlimited undo is always available, and the status line under the board suggests which of the three will help.
Does the game need an account or download?
No. It runs entirely in your browser, works on phone, tablet, and computer, and saves your statistics only on your own device.
